The Hasselblad 500C, introduced in 1957, is a renowned medium format camera that replaced the preceding 1000F model. Its excellent design, reliability, and versatility have earned it a place in history, even being used during the Apollo space missions. This all-mechanical camera is part of a complete system, designed with modularity in mind.
The four main components of the 500C: the body, the lens, the finder, and the film back, are all interchangeable and adaptable to different needs or jobs. Users have the flexibility to equip the camera with a waist level finder or an eye level prism, and can utilize a 6x6cm back, a 6x4.5cm back, or a 4x4cm 'super slide' back.
One of the defining features of the Hasselblad 500C is its use of superior lenses built by Carl Zeiss, some of the best optics available in the medium format world. The 500C is known for its ability to produce images of exceptional sharpness and clarity.
